Full time Registered Veterinary Technician

Highlands Pet Hospital is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team!

YOU: A friendly and outgoing Registered Veterinary Technician who is looking to provide excellent patient care to a rapidly growing client base. Excellent client communication skills that are practiced with a smile, possessing a willingness to grow, embrace change, and technology are all must-haves for our ideal candidate. We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about veterinary medicine, enjoys collaborating with a team, and is compassionate and driven to provide high-quality care. If you enjoy doing something different every day, having regular challenges and new things to learn, then you are who we are looking for! We are happy to consider new graduates looking for mentorship. Our practice is equipped with standard medical equipment (in-house labs, digital radiography, digital dental x-rays, tonometer, Life one multiparameter monitors, etc.)

MAJOR JOB SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be a registered veterinary technician with the ABVMA. You must work well under pressure and have the ability to multitask, work well with other team members and be professional at all times. Strong communication skills delivered in a friendly, compassionate way are a must. You’ll need to embrace technology and enjoy working with computers, have a moderate level of comfort/skill with, and be willing to learn about new technology. We need someone enthusiastic and eager to learn!

US: We’re a fun and energetic team that enjoys laughing together throughout the day, even if things get chaotic or stressful. We have two awesome doctors who enjoy working together and sharing and learning from each other’s cases. We have a fantastic team of 6 support staff who work hard together to provide care for our feline and canine patients. We enjoy the benefits of being a close-knit, family-feel practice. We treat each other and our clients like family and treat our patients as if they were our own. We believe in providing high-quality veterinary care for our clients. There is room to grow within the veterinary field in our hospital and we support team members who have professional goals and aspirations. We value collaboration and new ideas – welcoming new suggestions and encouraging professional and personal growth. Our ideal candidate will have a sense of humor (and enjoy cracking jokes throughout the day), be eager to share their passions and excitement with the team, enjoy working with people and their pets, and be excited about actively participating in the learning environment we have created.

MAJOR JOB BENEFITS: This is a full-time position, but we would consider part-time. We are currently open Monday, Wednesday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and Tuesday from 8:00 to 7:30 pm. We are closed on weekends and holidays. We do not provide after-hours emergency services but rather refer to a 24-hour facility here in Lethbridge. Family and a work-life balance are extremely valued here at Highlands Pet Hospital. We offer a competitive salary, CE allowance, association dues, uniform allowance, and veterinary discounts.

We are a full-service pet hospital and will take both emergency cases (when possible), as well as less urgent medical, surgical, and dental issues. We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic RVT to join our team. Our close-knit team offers a friendly and supportive work environment, where our core values enable us to provide our clients and patients with high-quality, trusted, and compassionate care.
