Health Exams

Dr McFarlance performs a health exam on a puppy.Keeping in mind that pets age more quickly than humans, it is important to keep up with regular health check-ups.  These examinations may help our veterinarians diagnose, treat, or prevent illnesses before they become life threatening.  Major health changes can occur in a short amount of time, so it is important to recognize even subtle changes.  Some of the reasons we may recommend a health exam include: limping, changes in urination (colour, frequency, accidents), changes in eating/drinking habits, behavioural problems, excessive itching, discharge from eyes, head shaking, and many other concerns.

If you are unsure if your pet needs to be seen by a veterinarian, please feel free to call us at 403-327-7387 and we would be happy to assist you.

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "When we first rescued our border collie, we selected Highlands Pet Hospital because of their reputation and we have not been disappointed! Rod and his excellent staff have gone so far to caution us about exercises and games which can lead to health issues. The staff are superb and always keen to spend time with the Jyp when we come to visit. This level of personal care and attention is what I appreciate most from Highland’s Pet Hospital."
